'Silk' was born in l980. Sired by CH Amudarya Shalar out of Holly, She gained
her title on the 28th August l982 at under two years old. She was the first
black and silver we had bred and was very successful in the showring, she
matured very quickly and thoroughly enjoyed her time in the showring.
'Silk' was Top Afghan more than once, qualified for the Stakes Finals, and the
first three of her 13 CC's were awarded by Jean Day, Jeff Bunney and Gus
MacDonald. She was a better showgirl than brood bitch, and I know Derek enjoyed
every minute of the time he spent in the ring with her. She was just so easy to
show, had spice in her attitude to other Afghans, but loved every human being,
except when she was guarding my handbag on the bench. Like most of our other
Afghans she won many RCC's, she was a treasure to own and be around.
'Silk' gave us Patriot, he was a lovely black and silver, sadly he was our one
and only coat chewer.
Never to be forgotten Silk lived to a good age, and ruled the roost whilst she
was with us.
