Our Luna is gone

After a tragic car accident with Henri and Silvia in the south of she was run over by a truck on Saturday morning.

You weren’t even 11 months old!!!

None of us has ever thought that you would leave us so soon.

Why so early?? Why YOU??

We, your family, Henri, Josette and Geert, are grief-stricken and bewildered.

Finally she was here, our first long awaited black and tan bitch!

Luna is, like all her siblings, are noisy and lively, but …so sweet!

When she was together with her sister Indy you can bet on it they will make trouble! They ranted, raved and played until they were exhausted! Both love water: the small pond in the inner court must be emptied to the last drop!

In the dog school you were an excellent pupil. After a few lessons you could keep pace with the others.

You knew right away what we expected from you, but bringing back your toy: no, thank you!

Not for me!

Also with little Jeannie she would fool around Most of the time our house and garden were too small for them!

Afterwards both of them would lie on the cushion and sleep.

Little Jeannie misses you a lot, Luna!

She is constantly looking for you and then weeps because she can’t find you!

‘Why aren’t you here anymore, Luna?’

Nobody can answer that question, but we miss you all indefinitely and can only hope that you can play together with your great-grandmother Ajoma and your aunt Jilim on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

We will never forget you all!!

We also want to thank our friends, Tom, Ulla, Josephine and Silvia who stood by us and helped us enormously on this awfully difficult day.

♥ Dear Pat. I was so sorry to hear about little Luna. I know she was one of Gamer's babies and you can just tell how heartbroken her owners are. I also know that Henri has broken ribs and Sylvia a broken wrist and my heart goes out to them all. Please pass my sympathy on to them all and I hope their injuries at least will heal very quickly. It was such a tragic accident.

Luna is now also on our Rainbow Bridge.

So sad Hazel (Zanavar)

♥ Hi Hazel, Such a tragic accident. How it brings it home to us with all the miles we all travel to shows.

The accident happened on the way to a show in Austria.

Poor, poor Luna she must have been so frightened. Bless her.

PAT (Zharook)

♥ Oh god, it makes my blood run cold, Pat. Poor baby and how tragic to lose her so young and in such a manner. Please pass on our heartfelt sympathies

♥ Hello Pat, Please pass on my sympathies too. You can tell by their words how heartbroken they are - and I'm sat here in tears. Time will heal their injuries, but much longer time is needed to heal their hearts. Run free little Luna, Rainbow Bridge awaits you.

Hugs Mo x (Shimkhani)

♥ What a terrible terrible tragedy, I cannot imagine how bad it must have been to go through this. My thoughts are with everyone concerned, poor little Luna, clearly much loved and missed by her family.

Nikki (Jahera)

♥ If possible could you please pass our condolences to Henri & Silvia for the loss of Luna. Such a terrible tragedy. I am sure that many in the Afghan Hound circle feel their pain, as we do.

Brian and David (Numa)

Jox (Zhaqqari)

♥ What a very sad piece of news and the owners message is so from their heart, this must be our very worse nightmare travelling the miles that so many dog exhibitors drive to pursue a hobby. Another "baby" taken far too soon.

Sylvia (Amshura)

♥ Hi Pat What a tragic accident. Please pass on my sympathies to all concerned on the sad loss of Luna.

Elizabeth (Ebeck)

♥ I just can't think about it without crying, Pat and Hazel. A worst nightmare to lose any of your precious ones like that, so horrific, poor souls, my heart goes out to them. Poor little girl, I have cuddled mine all night. Shona x

♥ What a horrific thing to happen to one so young. They must be totally devastated. You never think of the risks when traveling to shows. Poor Luna, she must have so scared, what a beautiful baby. My heart goes out to all her family. Run free and safe at rainbow bridge sweetheart.

Cath (Javidan)

♥ This is so sad, what a lovely bitch. It is always dreadful to lose any of our dogs, but under these circumstances & at such a young age is tragic. Please pass on my condolences to Luna's owners.

June (Khamis)

♥ Please pass on our deepest sympathies to Henri and Sylvia on the loss of Luna. What a terrible accident.
Jackie (Khorinyas)

♥ Hi Pat, Please pass on our sincere sympathies. Run free Luna.

Jackie and Leigh x (Portiana)

♥ Pat, I couldn't write before as each time I looked at Luna's picture I saw my own black/silvers - and tears came! Please pass on my deep condolences to all of them, such a very tragic loss of one so young and with such promise. I cannot begin to comprehend their loss - it is just so appalling, but at least they have each other and will be strong for each other in their grief.

Di. (Salamkhan)

♥ Having lost a youngster at 18 months Pat, I have never, ever got over it, and I never will.

Lesley xx

♥ Hi Pat, thank you for passing my message on. I was devastated for Luna and her promise without even knowing her - I cannot begin to imagine how the family feels. You're so right, if only we could turn back time - but unfortunately life doesn't allow us to. There is so much I would have changed with our "babes" with hindsight if I could have done - there is no magic wand though. Hope you, Rob and the afghans are fine?

love. Di.

♥ Hi Di, I think these poor owners and Luna have made us all think of one or two things we could have done differently - something each one of us wishes they hadn’t done, in hindsight, or had done, whichever way you look at it.
I know it has for me..............and takes you way way back, to our own 'if only's. Sometimes things just cannot be changed and they are so unfair. Some things you never get over - no matter how much you try, but I suppose it makes us what we are, and what we have become is up to us. Like the moon - Luna will always be spotted in the night sky now. Run free little girl - I never knew you, but will always remember you.

Love Mo x

♥ You are so right, Mo - "if only" is such a little phrase to write, but such a big thought! And like you my first thought too was that even though we never knew her, all the time the moon is in the sky, Luna will never ever be forgotten by any of us and will make us thankful that we have owned and loved afghans.

Di.

♥  Hi Pat, This is so very sad for you and for Luna's family. Please pass on my sincere sympathies to everyone concerned.

Love Cathy

♥ Dear Pat. Could not think of what to put after you told us the sad new at SAC, it is just too sad for you and for Luna's family. Please pass on my sincere sympathies to everyone concerned.

Susan & Clive
