Hi Lesley, well its the end of an era at Khonistan. Ian and I spent many happy
days with Wally Roy and Ian at Khonistan. The after Blackpool parties were
legendary, with the 2 Ian's throwing as many people in the pool as possible
.....myself being one of them on many occasions.
Ian had served on the committee of the NAHS for as many years as I can remember,
he took on many roles as a steward, dishwasher, raffle ticket seller lol referee
and since the untimely death of Ian H, took over as a more than capable
treasurer.
Despite Ian's illness he was always happy and smiling and a courageous battler.
Indeed at the last Northern show he looked quite well, and was remarkably
cheerful despite knowing that this dreadful disease could take its toll sooner
rather than later. his passing will leave a huge gap in the lives of people you
knew him. I for one will miss him greatly, I never heard Ian have a bad word to
say about anyone.
My heartfelt sympathy goes to his wife Anne and daughter Laura.
R.I.P. Ian it was a pleasure and a privilege to have known you. Roz (Livesy)

What very sad news Lesley. Ian has been part of the Northern Afghan scene for so
long - and always pleasant and cheerful to all of us at the shows or AGM's. Ian
was so much a part of the show scene for the Northern - as of course were Roy,
Wally and Ian H., and I can't begin to imagine how much June and the rest of the
committee there will miss him. What a very brave man he was to continue working
for the club in spite of his illness.
Please pass our sincere condolences to his family, and to all at the Northern.
Di and Keith (Searle)

Hi Roz, it was indeed a shock to hear of the passing of Ian and your note was
very apt. He will be sadly missed, as are Roy, Wally and Ian H. They were a
great friendly bunch and I always enjoyed our chats and the fun they had when
together. An end of an era for the club too, so very sad.
Please pass on my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. My best
regards to the stunned committee too. Hope to see you all soon. LOL. JOHN.
