Hi Avril. Yes very sad news. Arthur and I went back some 25 yrs, having served on the committee of the NAHS for the past 10, with Arthur. Arthur was always sure to make a rumble in his own inimitable way. He had a wicked dry sense of humour and was a kind and very generous man. He gave me my 1st at Crufts with my first Champ Asian Earl at Shalazsar and a following RCC with him. Arthur will always be dear to me. Sadly another special character will leave a big gap with the officers and committee of the Northern Afghan. Arthur had been ill for some time but battled on bravely, at peace now. R.I.P Arthur. Both Jan and I are very sorry to hear of Arthur's passing. He was a nice guy, and when he last stewarded for Allan Brooks at the Northern Champ Show, he took great delight in teasing me all afternoon about my handling style (or the lack of it) !
