RESCUE
STORM'S PAGE
Shirley posted the following message when trying to re home a little 12 year old girl called Storm
'Sorry, it's me again. I had a call from an RSPCA centre in Surrey today to say they need a home for a 10/11 year old Afghan. She was taken in as a cruelty case in a terrible condition. She was emaciated and her coat was matted solid. She is black and tan. She has been spayed and dental work has been carried out. The vet has said that she is now fit and ready to go to a new home. She can be a bit shy and is very loving and despite everything has not shown any aggression. She is not used to young children. Shirley' shirley@bozwood.demon.co.uk

A lovely man called James and his daughter Jenny offered to give Storm the right sort of quiet relaxed home she needed, the home check was done and passed with flying colours but then it It turned out that Storm had not been spayed and was thought to be more like 12 years old and despite being on a tail end of a season the RSPCA insisted on spaying Storm, fortunately she survived the surgery and the following day they phoned James to say she was now fit to leave and two days after her spaying Storm was collected by James for a loving new home. She managed the long journey home and trotted in to investigate her new surroundings, spent a penny in the garden and had a quick look around and then earmarked the sofa she wanted, instantly relaxed and fell asleep, woke and went to the kitchen for a drink then back to her sofa looking a much happier little girl and very much at home at long last. Well done to Shirley and to James for their sheer perseverance on getting Storm out of kennels and into a lovely home environment to spend the rest of her days in.
Update 16-01-06 - 24 Hours later and Storm is so happy, eating and so settled, James says no there are no problems at all. Shirley continues to find homes for other very needy afghans. If you can help with the right sort of home for this breed please contact bozwood@carr.prestel.co.uk
Update 16-06-07 - 16 months on and Storm is a totally settled and happy old lady. I think the photo's say it all. James is rightly very proud of his 'special girl'.
Update 19-01-08 - A new head study of Storm has been added below after a photo session organised by her adoring James, she looks really wonderful thanks to James care:-)
