Having been born in a showdog  home, it is not strange how my interest about show dogs developed. My mother Dora, used to breed and show Great Danes and Miniature Pinscher.

The first time that I saw an Afghan Hound was  at one International Dog Show near my home, they were gaiting around the Ring, there were some French dogs, Branwen and Huilaco's, I was12 . In 1979 I had the opportunity to gather an Afghan bitch, "Duska" and one her puppies, both golden b/m, their pedigree was a combination of Huiaco's, Grandeur and Bletchingley. They taught to me a lot  about the bred, the puppy was registered in my name as "ZHIMTZOO", He was shown successfully. In 1980 I had the opportunity to breed  Duska with Calahorra The Vizier, it was in this way the first litter “Basterberri” was born. I fell that need  to get other lines and decided to buy 3 Huilaco's and one self masque copper female from American bloodlines  who was mated with "Huilaco's Yumbel", a precious grandson of Multi Ch. "Huilaco's Antar Rakashi", with which He kept great similarity, from this litter I kept "Basterberri Paty Chuly", one lovely  cream female , she was very important in our breeding, She was bred to  "Huilaco's Black Khan" and gave us the gorgeous red brindle b/m  "Basterberri Zorgin S.Star", She won numerous BOB, CAC, CACIBs including RCAC at the Spanish Obligatory CAC Championship Int. Dog Show of Spring ,Madrid. In 1985 I decided to introduce new blood, after contact with Dominique Danel of "Tchekana" kennel. I bought  a stylish black male, son of Ch."Khaliphna's Kudos de Tchekana" a Ch."Kabik's The Challenger" son. He was "American Way of Life de Tchekana “Buny” He won  several BOG, RBIS. The style of Buny and its impeccable pedigree gave us excellent results when using him to breed "Basterberri Zorgin S. Star", from those two breedings were born "Basterberri Razkim", 1988 Best Afghan Hound Puppy of The Year in Spain, Int. Esp. Ch."Basterberri Razzia", 1989 Absolute Best Afghan Hound  in Spain , 1989 Best Afghan Hound Female in Spain and 1989 Best Afghan Hound born in Spain , "Basterberri Salt and Pepper" Better 1989 Best Young Afghan Hound  in Spain. Razzia was an outstanding  black female, with an excellent movement, difficult to fault.

In 1993 I start to judge, I have judged Afghan Hounds as well other Sighthounds, utility and toy breeds, granting CACs and CACIBS in Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Slovenia, Hungary, Finland, Norway,  Sweden, Lithuania, Ireland and at open shows in UK.
