Best Puppy and Puppy Group 2 Fisher’s Ifmaraf Go In To Win

Judge Mrs Marcelle King

Afghan hounds. Most exhibits were groomed to perfection, well muscled and had clean teeth. A couple of nice ones were very overweight. There were many quality Afghans entered; I really enjoyed judging them.

Puppy (4 2).
1st. Fisher’s Ifmaraf Go In To Win. An elegant bitch with a beautiful head & expression. Equal skull to muzzle length. Dark eyes. Long neck held proudly, moderate angulation front & rear, good leg length, springy pasterns, large feet, short rear pasterns, prominent hip bones, good spring of rib, long tail with a perfect ring. Moved soundly covering the ground easily with long springy strides. BP & puppy group 2.
2nd. Farquhar & Maney’s Birkhall Secret Agent. Different type to 1st, but a lot to like about him. Balanced head, would prefer longer foreface. Arrogant expression. Well laid shoulders, upper arm a tad steep. Level topline, well sprung ribs, short loin, good fallaway, and rear angulation, short rear pasterns, hocks well let down and large feet. Not as positive on the move as 1st.

Junior (2 1).
1st. Aldous & Cackett’s Lezarah Shiraz at Yorghan. A little heavy in head, although skull to muzzle length were equal. Eye shape correct, and has an oriental expression. Level topline, good spring of rib, chest could be deeper, excellent fallaway, tail set and good ring. Very large feet, balanced rear angulation. Had a ground covering side gait, a little close behind going away.

Post grad (9 1). A quality class.
1st. Boydell’s Warrenoak Dellboy JW. Upstanding male that took my eye as he entered the ring. Very houndy in outline. Skull long, excellent length of foreface, well chiselled, and correctly developed zygomatic arches, strong under jaw. Dark eyes, his expression is so arrogant. Balanced fore & aft with well laid shoulders, chest could be deeper, excellent spring of rib, short strong loin, level topline, prominent hip bones set wide apart, correct fallaway, and ringed tail. Moved soundly, covering the ground easily with little effort.
2nd. Gill, Marshall, Astle & Astle’s Miamarna Instinction at Zareesh. Feminine bitch. Head was balanced, strong underjaw, beautiful dark eyes giving aloof expression. Pleasing houndy outline, nothing exaggerated, long neck held proudly, well laid shoulders, elbows a little loose, level topline, good spring of rib, perfect hip bones and fallaway, balanced leg length, large feet, springy pasterns, good sweep behind. Stylish sound mover with plenty of reach & drive, just a touch too much lift.
3rd. Farquhar’s Sukeshi Scarlet Sky

Open (7 2).
1st. Gill & Marshall’s Miamarna Motivator JW. Mature male with pleasing balanced outline, nothing exaggerated. Head is balanced. Although foreface could be longer he possesses a really strong underjaw and well developed zygomatic arches. Beautiful eyes in colour, placement and expression. Very arrogant and looked straight through me. Head held proudly on strong neck of good length. Shoulders well laid back, elbows could be tighter, level topline, good spring of rib, prominent hip bones, correct fallaway, tail not perfectly ringed but correctly carried, huge feet. Powerful mover, covering the ground with long, springy strides. Well handled. BOB & hound group 4.
2nd Murphy’s Arushkhan Born Free. Another quality hound. Long skull, slight stop with long, punishing jaws. Dark triangular eyes giving me such an arrogant aloof expression. Harmonious outline, long neck held proudly, excellent front angulation, deep chest, good spring of rib, level topline, prominent hipbones, excellent fallaway, good sweep behind, long ringed tail, large feet. Moved soundly enough, but not with the enthusiasm or head carriage of 1st.
3rd. Parson’s Sukeshi Blaze of Glory JW
