My start in Afghans echoes that of so many others, As a child at primary school I use to watch a lady walk past with 3 of the most beautiful animals I had ever seen, I eventually plucked up courage to speak. The lady was Dorothy Fryer mother to Godfrey Fryer (Severndene) This was how I meet Estella and Godfrey, and the beginning of my life long passion for the breed, through the 70`s I had great fun showing the Afghans. In the 80`s I ventured into another breed GSPs, I lost my last GSP some 8 years ago, Jumping forward to the 90s I purchased a Beautiful Classic Self Masked Red Bitch Zareenas Celesta 'Polly' ..... Polly was to produce just one litter of 9, this being the last litter to be registered at Severndene in 1997.
In 2002 I bought a bitch with 3/4 Qamaris 1/4 AUS breeding from the Gold `N Copper Kennel in Sweden. I had like the Qamaris dogs - Rodeo, Paddington and Charming Alibi and these feature in Chills pedigree. Chilli arrived in the UK in 2003 Around this time I had also seen a picture of a young black male whom I had been very struck by. My dream was to use this male on Chilli, the male turned out to be the fabulous Muti BIS SBIS Am Can Aust Gr Ch Aviva T All Black JC - Kiwi, after nearly 2 years of research and talking to Chilli's breeder and the breeder of Kiwi, semen was imported into the UK. The pedigrees tying up through The Blue Spruce line. For this new venture with new breeding lines I took out a new Affix Zhaqqari
Our first Zhaqqari Litter was born In 2005 resulting in 3 girls, all are doing their owners proud
In 2007 we added a different breed to our household in the shape of Nancy a beautiful Chinese crested - I'm totally smitten with this breed, and I,m sure more crested's wil be joing us here at Zhaqqari
From Judging my first class of Afghans , I have now been passed by the KC to give CC's In The breed. My next appointment is in 2011, where I will judge Dog & Bitches at CC level , It will have been 4 years since I last Judged the breed.
