Judge Mrs Zita Fogerty

I would like to thank everyone for their entries and the hard work it took to keep your dogs clean between Belfast and this show.

Please everyone take care when breeding and try and retain that truly wonderful Afghan head and expression some of the heads today were quite worrying.

Veteran Dog (5. 2A)

1st Margrain’s Arkenstone Shadkam 7 ½ year old won this class on his light springy gait covering the ground with ease, also possesses a good head and a well balanced body.

2nd Mathers & Reid’s Metewand Arithon 10 ½ years old in great condition, moved out well, just preferred head of 1.

3rd O’Neill’s Amudarya Shadow at Terstine

Minor Puppy Dog (3)

1st Bastow’s  Cloudside Warlord at Karandikar 7 ½  month old black & silver, Good head under his monkey whiskers, great front, still a little high in rear only to be expected at this age, won on his ground covering gait. Best Puppy in Show

2nd Webster’s Cloudside Warstrike The best eye shape and colour on the day, Great head, was not as free flowing as his brother but with all the potential when he matures.

3rd Moore’s Cloudside Warpaint.

Puppy Dog (2. 1A)

1st Bastow’s Cloudside Warlord at Karandikar

Junior Dog (2)

1st Latimer’s Istani Your Love Is King at Zharook 15 months old, Great head and overall shape which showed in his great scope on the move and the ease with which he covered the ground. Considered him for top honours which I am sure will come with maturity.

2nd McCann’s Metewand Muhembo 15 months old, this boy needs some confidence building as I suspect does his owner, he was very apprehensive today but had a nice spring in his step when he moved.

Yearling Dog. (7. 1A)

1st Latimer’s Istani Your Love Is King at Zharook

2nd Barry’s Arkenstone Tor Mantor Nicely chiselled head, good overall shape, strode out well in front, rear not yet settled, would have preferred a ring tail. Has potential will look forward to seeing the finished product.

3rd Meakes & Morris’s Andizhan Arael at Cadmore.

Graduate Dog (4. 1A)

1st Latimer’s Istani Your Love Is King at Zharook

2nd Meakes & Morris’s Andizhan Arael at Cadmore Gorgeous head and when stood looks a picture, unfortunately he did not stride out as his conformation suggest that he can. I would like to see him handled by someone with a longer stride, as I feel he is moving in tune with his handler. Quality dog.

3rd Hunn’s Andizhan Arcturus.

Post Graduate Dog. (4. 1A)

1st Kemp’s Mashaalah Namu to Suzaph J.W. Beautiful head and expression, Well laid shoulder and matching rear angulation which he used to cover the ground with ease. Would have liked a touch more enthusiasm which would make him hard to beat. Super dog.

2nd Meakes & Morris’s Andizhan Arael at Cadmore

Mid Limit Dog (2. 1A)

1st Morris & Meakes Firos Cardhu of Cadmore Good head and expression finished with correct eye shape seen so rarely these days, a little overweight but he moved and showed well, pictured finished with a nice ring tail.

Limit Dog (12.4A)

1st Kidd’s Freecloud Belllaggio. Just loved his carriage. Proudly carried well chiselled head with correct eye shape. Well bodied and in great condition, he won this class on his great scope of movement with a true Afghan springy gait. Should with any justice gain his crown. R.C.C.

2nd Roberts Zanfarzand Kazbah King. Well made gold dog with a lovely head and expression, presented in full bloom, and used his assets well on the move.

3rd French’s Sukeshi Village Gossip at Zalmeerah.

Open Dog. (11. 4A)

1st Goff’s Gardwright Onya Tails. I have loved this boy since he was a puppy. A wealth of coats hides a classically made Afghan  with everything in the right place, Masculine head and noble expression, beautifully balanced all through with great depth of brisket and correct spring of rib, covered the ground as only an Afghan this well made can. Thrilled to be given the opportunity to award him his 3rd C.C. and his Crown. C.C. & Reserve Best in Show.

2nd Noble & Wilcox’s Destiny Du Jegdalek Avec Bichoux. Another favourite of mine, a beautifully presented gold in superb condition who moved with great ground covering strides  as befits his conformation, just preferred the head on 1, I am sure his 3rd C.C. will come soon and is well worthy  of it.

3rd O’Neills Amudarya Shekinah at Terstine.

Veteran Bitch (5. 1A)

1st Margrain’s Arkenstone Hermoine 10 ½ years old. Glorious head & expression, out moved everything in this class with ease. She also collected the title of Best Irish Bred on the day.

2nd Barry’s Bondor Layla 12 ½ years old. Well made bitch, moved with her young handler better then I have ever seen her go , a joy to see her tail in action.

3rd Wyatt, West & Young’s Ch Arushkhan Thunder Storm from Bellapais

Minor Puppy Bitch (1)

1st French’s Saxonmill Sunbeam at Zalmeerah. Striking Black & Silver (almost white). Beautiful head and expression. Moved with more enthusiasm then her handler could cope with. Should have a great future when she matures in body and mind.

Puppy Bitch   No Entry

Junior Bitch   No Entry

Yearling Bitch (1)

1st Margrains Arkenstone Sarah Habubah. Glorious head and expression as can always be expected from this kennel, good length of neck leading into a sparsely coated body in good condition, a little all over the place on the move, look forward to seeing her mature.

Graduate Bitch. (1)

1st Ryall’s Metewand Wiscasset A lot to like about this girl covers the ground with long easy strides. Good head and expression and nicely balanced front and rear. Will appeal to many.

Post Graduate Bitch (5. 2A)

1st Bastow’s Saxonmill Star Attraction at Karandikar J.W. Feminine head and expression. Correct front and matching rear end, however today lacked vigour which would have made her a contender. Quality bitch.

2nd Clark’s Kirghiz J J Top Feminine light brindle who moved with a light springy action as befits her conformation, just preferred head of 1.

3rd Margrain’s Arkenstone Tor Maaeshukah.

Mid Limit Bitch (1)

1st Latimer’s Saxonmill Electra at Zharook J.W. Beautiful Head and Expression, Moved with great style, expertly handled and presented in full bloom and good condition.

Limit Bitch (11. 4A)

1st Harris Baltoro Crystal Clear at Portianja. I admired the flowing lines of this bitch who possesses  a superb head, good length of neck , level topline and ground covering gait, was strongly considered for top honours which I am sure will come her way.

2nd Moyes, Moyes & Devaney’s Breyelis Merenra Nicely made bitch with good movement and topline , preferred head of 1

3rd Hunter’s Sulahmara Nadirah.

Open Bitch (7. 1A)

1st Rhodes & Shaverneva Shadowfax Ciao Agrippina  A bitch I have always admired for her exquisite movement. Looks like she could go on all day presented in tip top condition and dressed in a coat of silk. She is in essence all Afghan with that arrogant expression that says upon her head should sit a crown which I am certain is on the horizon C.C. & Best in Show

2nd Edwards & Appleby’s Saxonmill Star Style This bitch has all the attributes of a great Afghan unfortunately in this class she lacked the sparkle which would normally have made her a contender for top honours. However in the challenge she pulled out all the stops to take home the R.C.C.

3rd Cogill’s Khamis She’s Unique.
