CRITIQUE

Well run show with good friendly atmosphere. Good size ring but the surface of the Sports Hall floor was extremely slippery,
and this made movement of some of the dogs very erratic, especially in the Afghan Hound classes.

AFGHANS - Junior (3, 1a)

1st -  Keamarola Kaiserdare T'Rules Dachalune. Strong and powerful young dog, balanced head with strong long neck, well laid shoulders.Good ribcage, short strong loin, prominent pin bones, fallaway with well set ring tail. Gentle bend to stifle with small strong hocks .Moved with reach and drive, well presented.

2nd - Keamarola Keifer

Post Grad - (5, 1a)

1st - Altside Blu For You. This lovely feminine bitch breezed into the ring as if she owned it. Good head with small dark eye and keen expression. Strong arched neck into well laid shoulders, good spring of rib, strong short loin, level topline, prominent pin bones, steep fallaway, good bend of stifle and strong hocks. This little girl moved with great poise and elegance in not the best ideal conditions for an afghan., but this did not stop me from awarding her BOB.

2nd - Bichoux Back to my Roots at Bondor

3rd - Zandahar Vanilla Fudge Among Dachaline

4th - Gezancol Kitan Kaboodle

Open - ( 2, 1a)

1st - Gezancol Kitan Kaboodle. This boy was 4th in PG. I liked his overall balance and topline but his confidence was shattered due the condition of the floor in the previous class, and was reluctant to move freely.

NORWEGIAN ELKHOUNDS

Junior - ( 1 )

1st - Kestos Night Sky at Norderhove.  17month old bitch, still needs to mature in bone, good wedge shaped head with small dark eye. Lovely dark shaped ears and well alert, powerful neck leading into sloping shoulders, elbows closely set in. Well ribbed, strong back with short loin.Hindquarters strong and powerful with straight hocks. Moved freely but speed was reduced because of slippery floor. Should mature into a lovely hound. BOB.

Open - (1 )

1st - Barlestone Quilla At Fabelmor, 10 1/2 year old bitch. Most of the atributes that I have given to my best of breed winner apply to this bitch, but I just preferred the head and movement of the other .

WHIPPETS

Junior - (3 )

1st - Bondor Platinum Blond. 9 month old particolour baby with a lot of elegance and grace even at this age. Very good  head and eye, long neck, lovely shoulders and deep brisket. Overall balance of front and rear angulation was superb with no over stretching of rear hocks. Moved very true in profile coming and going. She is everything I look for in this breed and is a credit to her owners. BP , BOB & GROUP 2.

2nd - Rowangarth Burning Gold.

3rd - Ellies Duchess Blue at Ryamber.

Post Grad - (2, 1a)

1st - Rowangarth Santa Ana. 21/2 year old particolour bitch, attractive head and expression. Small fine textured ears, long neck. Not as deep in brisket as I would have liked. Well arched topline and well bent stifles. Lacked  the extension and drive of my junior winner, stood alone but  a worthy winner.

Open - ( 5, 1a )

1st - Rowangarth Northern Light. 41/2 year old fawn /brindle bitch, broad head, would have liked more length to muzzle. Muscular neck, well angulated front and rear. Slightly over arched in top line. Moved with good front action and driving from rear.

2nd - Cobycop Sweet Chariot of Bunnyridge.

3rd - Silkridge Soviet Song.

4th - Recall Inspector Lucy.
