Afghan Hounds – Dogs

Lovely day, two lovely stewards, many lovely hounds – just a reminder: “elbow vertically below withers”, “back falling slightly away to stern”, “tail set on low.”

Minor Puppy (6/0)

  1. Collett’s KHAMIS JAMIROQUAI, 7 mos, black, headed a trio of promising babies, great body and bone with very good angles front and rear, promising head, dark eye and very good mouth with good underjaw, strong muscle, moved soundly , ring tail carried correctly completed picture.

  2. Gosling’s AYOUBKHAN FLEUR DE SEVANE, 7 mos, blue, very attractive head with good eye shape. Deep chest and good long ribcage, good length of leg, well balanced with good shoulder and front, level topline, ring tail, steady movement with good spring.

  3. Gill’s MIAMARNA FOR ALL WE KNOW..

Puppy (10/0)

  1. Kidd’s KARANDIKAR SEA OF STARS, blk/tan, really well conditioned puppy, good shaped head with such piercing black eyes, good mouth, great body with deep chest and good bone throughout, balanced outline with correct fallaway to well set on ring tail. Covered the ground with powerful movement. BOS Puppy.

  2. Bartram’s ALTSIDE QUNICY JONES AT CHARDARA, brindle, deep chest and strong bone throughout, his arched neck led to good shoulders and front, level topline, sweeping hindquarters, he won this place on substance and condition which allowed him to move with power and grace.

  3. Gosling’s AYOUBKHAN FLEUR DE SEVANE

Junior (7/3)

  1. Kemp’s ANDIZHAN BANJALUCAH TO SUZAPH, bm silver, very profuse coat somewhat masks the outline of this boy but under all that there is a typical head, masculine but no coarseness, arched neck leading to very well laid shoulders and an excellent return of upper arm, strong body with powerful loin, strong hindquarters with excellent angulation, he has the ability to cover the ground well when his exhuberance does not overtake him.

  2. O’Neill’s SAXONMILL MIDNIGHT MAYHEM OF TERSTINE, blk/silver, refined head with strong underjaw and pleasant chiselling, dark eyes, strong arched neck and proud head carriage, good length of bone and balanced angles. Correct fallaway to ring tail. He moved with style and purpose. So promising and just a little time needed.

  3. Newton’s SHIMALMA COLOUR OF MAGIC

Yearling (4/1)

  1. Woodward’s TURLODALES TOPSY TALBY, blk/cream, excellent head with long skull and good jawline, dark eyes, long neck into good front with long sloping shoulders and good return, balanced throughout and held his topline well standing and on the move. Good condition showed in driving rear action. Completed with ring tail.

  2. Parker’s ZENDUSHKAS GLENMORANGIE, black, most attractive head and eye, long neck into good front, strong body with well-sprung ribcage, good fallaway and correctly set-on ring tail. Extremely angulated at rear and sometimes this unbalanced his movement. Plenty of time..

  3. Fuller’s WONGABURRA MANHATTAN MAGIC

Special Beginners (3/1)

  1. Kirk’s ISTANI SERGEANT PEPPER, brindle, eyecatching hound of somewhat extreme proportions, lovely head with dark eye, long bones, strong body with long rib cage, sweeping rear, can cover a lot of ground and this lad is just holding it all together on the move.

  2. Matthews’ GEZANCOL RENE AT SHURMA, gold, what a lovely head with chiselling, good mouth and dark eye, deep chest and good spring of rib, large feet, he somewhat lacked condition and his huge, beautifully presented coat on occasion impeded his movement.

Graduate (5/1)

  1. Wilson’s CUBANBA REGULUS JW, gold, what an elegant young man ! Long lean head with just the right masculinity, dark eye, long neck and proud head carriage, well boned throughout with good length of leg and sloping pasterns, strong body with lovely topline, completely balanced with just the right angulation used to advantage as he moved so freely around the ring. A real hound and I was pleased to award him RCC.

  2. Winters’ ASHAHNI AZZAM WITH TOKANDO JW, blk&brindle, another impressive youngster, the best of eyes looked straight through me, very pleasing head, strong construction throughout, shorter coupled than 1 but well ribbed back and with correct fallaway and set of tail. Moved absolutely soundly with balance and drive

  3. Adams & Davies’ ZANDAHAR TREACLE TOFFEE JW

Post Graduate (10/3)

  1. Day’s KHORINYAS PEWTER, brindle, long lean head with good underjaw and excellent eye shape, long neck into long sloping shoulders, well bodied with deep chest, a balanced upstanding hound with good sloping pasterns giving great spring. He moved strongly, driving from powerful hindquarters. Quite as handful.

  2. Van Nierop & Gorman’s JIMELREE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER AT KELDEHAN, blk&brindle, another with good long shoulders and great body, this boy benefitted from balanced angulation front and rear and moved with good reach and drive. Very purposeful – just preferred the spring of 1.

  3. Vowles’ AZMARI BLACK DIAMOND

Limit (14/2)

  1. O’Donnell’s JAVIDAN DIRTY LITTLE SECRET, black, most attractive head with long skull, strong jawline and dark eyes of good shape, long neck into well laid shoulders with good return. Elbow well under and excellent body with deep chest. Sweeping hindquarters, correct fallaway to ring tail. Presented in excellent physical condition. Moved with spring and drive carrying his head proudly.

  2. McCormack’s SITANA JARANWALA AT TULAK JW, cream, masculine head with no coarseness, dark eye of good shape, attractive chiselling on foreface. Great bone and condition throughout, well laid shoulder and good return, sweeping hindquarters, moved with purpose and soundly.

  3. Busby’s WILBUS MIDAS

Open (9/0)

A trio of lovely hounds –

  1. Moore’s CLOUDSIDE WARSTRIKE, white, no unnecessary flash here, just a most elegant and honest hound, masculine head with long skull, powerful jawline, dark eyes gazing through me, long neck into long sloping shoulders with excellent return of upper arm, good bone, large feet, well ribbed back, strong loin with prominent hipbones, sweeping hindquarters, correct fallaway to ring tail. Then he moves – covering the ground in long easy strides with just that spring which never interrupts the forward motion, lifts him as he moves and lifts my heart as well. So pleased to award him CC and with my co-judge BOB.

  2. Greechan’s Ch/ Chil Ch RASHID EBN HUGO VON HAUSSMAN AT MYHALSTON, brindle, another so impressive, balanced head with dark eyes, strong neck into very well angulated front assembly, shorter coupled than 1 but so well ribbed and with deep chest, strong loin and rock solid topline, great length from hip to hock, picture completed by correctly set-on tail and large feet. Once settled he moved with tremendous drive.

  3. Lancashire’s Am Ch GAZON WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET WITH DRISHAUN
