Judge : Bitches :
June Leitch
Thank you to the the AHCS committee for their wonderful hospitality & beautiful
gift.
Having attended very few shows over the past two or three years many of the
exhibits were new to me.
I was delighted with the overall quality & could have happily awarded the CC to
at least five of the bitches.
Veteran Bitch - 4
1st) Leiper's Chinzae's Sheer Elegance at Joneca, 10 year old B/M gold, showing
like a youngster and obviously enjoying her day out.
Shade strong in backskull, good length of neck in to well laid shoulders, nice
return of upper arm, good depth & spring to ribs,
good topline, fall away & rear angles. Ground covering movement.
2nd Vowles Ch. Jalhar Leading Lady With Azmari Extremely pretty girl with
beautiful head, eye & expression. More compact than 1st, not as pleasing in neck
& withers.
Beautifully conditioned & presented, a great showgirl. Good movement, but not
quite the scope of 1
3rd Hindley,Martyn & McDonald's Birkhall Tuppeny Treat
Minor Puppy Bitch - 2
Two lovely babies of completely different type, which made this a difficult
descision.
1) Rhodes Freecloud Nanak Denim to Shadowfax, Sweet brindle domino, nicely
proportioned & well made throughout. Balanced angles front & rear, low hocks.
Good topline & ribbing, ring tail. Moved very soundly for such a baby, with good
reach & drive. BPIS.
2) Dunn's Finix Lindores at Gylemuir Leggy B/T who at first glance thought would
be my winner, looks great in profile. Level topline, prominent hip-bones,
nice angle to croup, well angulated quarters, deep chest. Needs time to settle
and fill out. Not as positive in front as1
Puppy - 2
1) Deen & Hannigan's Freecloud Nafrini at Jahera, Eyecatching cream/oyster
brindle. Tall & elegant. Good length of foreface with strong underjaw, long
neck, into well laid shoulders,
strong topline, well muscled loin. Good length, spring & depth to ribcage,
correct angle to croup & ring tail. Showed well, beautifully conditioned &
presented.
2) Westgarth's Bichoux Bella for Tamareesha. B/T rather unsettled in this class.
Nice head & eye, good reach of neck, excellent front assembly, deep chest.
Shade high in rear at this stage which spoiled her outline. Another that needs
time.
Junior Bitch - 5
1) King's Cubanba Mara with Kinpaja B.CC & BIS. WOW..... Absolutely stunning
brindle, caught my eye as she glided round the ring with the rest of the class.
For me this bitch was the epitome of breed type & temperament. Perfect for size,
substance & balance. Beautiful head, feminine but still with the desired
strength of underjaw & backskull.
Dark, well shaped eye. Good length of neck, well laid smooth shoulders, with
corresponding angle & length to upper arm. Well ribbed back with adequate depth
& spring, short well muscled loin,
hard level topline (one of the best on the day) prominent hip bones, correct
angle & length of croup. Tremendous quarters which were perfectly balanced with
her front.
short hocks, had real power & drive from the rear. Moved as her conformation
suggested, with long effortless, springy strides.
At times she was a bit playful, but settled enough to show what she was capable
of. Loved her aloof & naughty moments, so typically "Afghan".
Such an exciting youngster, who can only improve with age. I wish her lucky
owners well, I'm sure she will have a very bright future.
Beat her sire on the referee's descision for BIS.
2) Metcalfe's Cubanba Northern Star J.W.
Pale gold, litter sister to 1 & possess the same virtues. A shade bigger &
rangier overall, but still feminine & again correctly proportioned. Lovely type,
square & angular, eyecatching on the move.
Just didnt quite match her sisters reach & drive, or strength in topline today.
Another worthy of top honours. Congratulations to their breeders on such a
fantastic litter.
3) Lacey's Keamarola Karlesha
Yearling Bitch - 5
1) Howard's Altside Blu For You under Asianskies
Houndy blue, with the outline & balance I was looking for. Long, balanced head,
dark well shaped eye, great neckline, good shoulder & return of upper arm,
strong level topline,
good pin bones & croup, sweeping quarters, big feet, very impressive on the
move. Was kept in to the final 3, just lacked the sparkle of the CC & RCC
winners today.
Would like to see her outdoors in a big grass ring.
2) Small's Cloudside Glitterstorm J.W. was really taken with this silver
brindle, very much my cup of tea. Beautiful head, eye & expression, long
punishing jaws, balance backskull,
great length of neck flowing into clean well laid shoulders, excellent return of
upper arm, good body & ribbing, nicely angled rear balanced with front.
Tremendous ground covering, springy gait. Not carrying a great deal of coat,
which enhanced her elegant outline.
My only criticism was that there was just too much of her.
3) Sanghera's Sitana Jandiala J.W.
Novice Bitch - 1
1) Westgarth's Bichoux Bella for Tamareesha,
Undergraduate Bitch - 2
1) Inman's Keamarola Karola Thats Me, Quality B/T, beautiful head with good
underjaw, dark expressive eyes, good neck, excellent depth of chest, nice size &
substance. moved well.
2) McDonald, Martyn & Hindley's Metewand Zaraza at Birkhall Stunning cream of a
type I love. Feminine head, lovely expression, nicely angled & balanced
throughout.
Natural & springy stride. Not happy today & refused to raise her tail in action.
Graduate Bitch - 6
1) King's Cubanba Mara with Kinpaja
2) Wignall & William's Sitana Patiala of Syrdarya Liked everything about this
B/M red. Feminine, beautiful type, gorgeous head & expression, well proportioned
body,
balanced angles. ring tail, moved well. Unlucky to meet 1.
3) Lacey's Keamarola Karlesha
Post GraduateBitch - 7 (1a)
1) Harris & Day's Khorinya Narooma with Portianja & 2) Moyes & Devaney's
Metewand Arania with Bryelis, Two very differnt types, both putting in a good
performance, making this such a difficut descision.
Narooma was an exciting, leggy, angular blue, who almost threw the class away by
being too exuberant on the move. Lovely head & expression, very stylish with
proud carraige.
Arania was more moderate, workmanlike, very sound & honest gold who possesed all
the breed essentials, natural springy gait, never put a foot wrong. I loved them
both.
It was just the ring prescence of 1 which stole the class.
3)Moore's Metewand Archana at Cloudside
Mid Limit Bitch - 5
1) O'Donnell's Javidan Keep the Faith Quality B/m brindle who stood out in this
class. Stunning headpiece, long chiselled forface, lean backskull, strong
underjaw, madarin beard, dark expressive eyes.
Lovely neckline into well laid shoulders, good forechest & return of upper arm,
deep well sprung ribcage, sweeping quarters, huge feet. Massive coat which
rather detracted from her femininity & outline.
Tended to roach her topline slightly & would have liked more more definition of
pinbones & angle to croup. Ring tail. Strong, powerful ground covering movement.
2) McCrindle's Kazzlyn Kool N Sassy. Not the head or eye of 1, squarer in
outline, nicely made & honest shaded gold. good body, correct coat pattern, big
feet, ring tail, steady mover.
3)Small's Cloudside War of The Roses
Limit Bitch 10 (5)
The strongest class of the day.
1) Traversari & Greenwood's Altside Bimbo Baggins. R. CC. Exotic & extrememly
impressive blue/brindle/domino Oozes quality & femininity. Balanced throughout,
an absolute joy to go over.
Beautiful head, small dark triangular eyes, loved her haughty expression.
Impressive ground covering movement. Great showgirl. In fabulous condition &
handled to perfection.
Lost to CC winner on topline. I believe she already has her title & a hound
group under her belt. I'm sure she will go on to be a great ambassador for the
breed.
2)Moore, Rodgers & Freer's Cloudside Wardance at Montravia. Feminine brindle,
reminiscent of her dam. Excelled in outline & balance, another with a lovely
head & expression.
All the breed essentials. Never put a foot wrong, just lacked the sparkle of 1
on the day. Her day will come.
3)Beck's Metewand Koomooloo at Zilbec
Open Bitch - 4 (1)
1)Harris's Baltoro Crystal Clear at Portianja. Lovely white bitch, a real
favourite of mine. Houndy & feminine, elegant, flowing lines, holding her
topline better than I've seen in the past.
Moved with a light springy stride, covering pleny of ground. I believe she is
now a Champion, congratulations.
2)Rhodes & Shavernela's Ch.Dan.S. Shadowfax Ciao Agrippina (Sorry lost my notes
on this one, the puppy got hold of my notebook!!)
I can remember being impressed when going over this blue & she moved very well.
I thought fairly similar in type to 1, just not quite the finish or outline.
3)Alouann Hot N Spicey at Orashan JW. SHCM.
